One cannot go to Prague and not see the Prague Castle. Likewise, one cannot miss Wenceslas Square, site of the 1989 "Velvet Revolution," the 1968 Soviet Invasion and current commercial center in the heart of Prague. A long wide street lined with elegant hotels and shops it is dominated, at the top, by the National Museum. Restaurants and shops alike are crammed with tourists and Czechs, all dining out, shopping and enjoying the flourishing center.

All three metro lines run from Wenceslas Square as do a variety of trams, making it possible to whisk anywhere in the city in a matter of minutes. But Prague is best viewed on foot, and Wenceslas Square is mere minutes from Old Town Square´s famous Astrological clock and the beautiful ancient Charles Bridge, spanning the Vltava River. Whatever your preference, it´s easy to do from Wenceslas Square.

Our second apartment accommodation lodging in Spanelska 6 is in an early 20th century building on Spanelska street, which overlooks the Main Wilson Train station and the Museum on the top of Wenceslas Square. When the sun sinks behind Museum and the clouds light up pink and gold, Prague seems even more magical than imagined in books and fairy tales.

Located on the first floor of the Spanelska 6 building, this is a quiet and lovely one-bedroom flat accomodation with two balconies. Parquet floors accent the lovely furniture and fittings in the apartment. The master bedroom, looking out into the quiet back garden, has a designed wooden bed and two bedside lamps atop night tables. The dresser is spacious enough to put your clothes into, guaranteeing they stay wrinkle-free for a night at the opera or theater.

Entrance to the apartment is through a shared foyer. After opening the door and hanging your coats on the rack, you’ll see a large closet in the corridor where you can put your shoes in or stuff away your suitcases. At the end of the corridor is the kitchen.

Although compactly designed, you’ll find everything you need to function in the kitchen. There are plenty of pots and pans, dishes and silverware, hand towels and all the other amenities needed to cook a dinner or prepare a breakfast. There is even a dishwasher to clean up so you’ll never have to do another dish again.

To the right is the living room. Although sparely furnished right now, there’s more than enough to be comfortable. An ample table allows four to sit and eat and a pair of couches provide for lounging prior to going out. And if the weather is nice you can always open up the balcony and take in the sights and sounds of the city as it rushes by. There’s an amazing view from the balcony of the Museum building on the top of Wenceslas Square. And as in all of Apartment in Prague’s accommodation, there is free wifi set up ready to go.

On the other side of the apartment is the master bedroom and bath. The bedroom has been done in a lovely soothing brown and the furniture matches nicely. There is a big chest of drawers for putting your things in and lamps above the bed make it simply to do a little late night reading. There’s also a lovely balcony out the back which juts into the courtyard which you can hang around on as well, in the nice weather.

Off the master bedroom is the bathroom. It features a huge tub and a separate walk in shower. There’s a big square sink with a lovely lighted mirror for shaving or brushing your teeth.

The toilet is actually separated from the bath, it’s off the corridor so if there is more than one couple staying in the apartment, no one needs be aroused for a late night bathroom break.
