Our latest addition is Benediktska 2, in the same building as Benediktska 1. Located on the ground floor, there are no stairs at all and is perfect for someone who is handicapped but still wants to visit Prague. In the heart of Stare Mesto, the Benediktska building is but a five minute walk from Prague’s Old Town Square and just around the corner from lovely art-deco Municipal House> (in Czech called Obecni Dum, home to the Prague Philharmonic). The neighborhood is one of the most trendy in Prague, with many of the city´s finest restaurants all located within a short five-minute walk.
The building was constructed in between the wars and is unique caught, as it is, between the two dominant architectural styles of the early 20th century, Art Nuevo and Art Deco. We tried to match the furniture to the house, so it’s full of Art Nuevo stuff, like beds, lamps, dressers, chairs and wardrobes. We even redid the kitchen so it looks like something from the 1930s!
The windows all look out into the back garden which is full of lovely bushes and flowers. But should you not want to look at the garden, there are both blinds and curtains to ensure your privacy.
This is a smaller apartment but has two single beds pushed together to make a double bed. There is a single bed as well, so three people can stay here easily. We don’t have the usual pullout couch here, so it’s pretty much impossible to put another person here unfortunately. As in all of our apartments, linens, towels, heating and electricity are included.
The fully functional kitchen features all the facilities expected in a beautiful flat. There is a large ´fridge, ceramic stove top cooker, microwave, cutlery and dishes. So, if you decide to cook instead of hitting one of the neighborhood restaurants, it´s no problem.
In the bathroom you’ll find a fully functional shower so you can wash off all the dust after a day of looking around the golden city.
The neighborhood around the apartment is great, one of the most happening in Prague. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars and more are being added all the time. It´s simple to get out and grab a really good bite to eat and enjoy some of Prague´s excellent concerts and nightlife.
If you need to get anywhere quickly, there is a metro around the corner (Namesti Republiky stop, yellow line) or you may simply climb aboard a tram (nearest tram stop is Revolucni, trams 5, 14, 26, 53) and go exploring.
We think that staying at Benediktska will really make your experience in Prague great so come and be ready to be blown away.
