There are a multitude of restaurants and bars within five minutes walk. A few are listed below, but use the map from the link at the bottom to really get a feeling for everything that is in the neighborhood.
Restaurant Cerny Kohout, Vojtěšská 9, Praha 1, tel: 251 681 191, info@cernykohout.cz,
open: Monday 18-23. Tues-Sat: 12-15, 18-23 – So this is one of our new favorites as well. They post their lunch menu online every Tuesday (they are open for lunch from Tuesday-Friday) and for 199 CZK, it’s a steal for a three-course meal. The food is outstanding, well and carefully prepared with small details and excellent waiting which you don’t find in a lot of Prague Restaurants. The chef Vojtěch Petřík and his wife Andrea Petříková moved the restaurant downtown after being kicked out of their old building and it took them a year and a half to find a suitable new location. But now they are downtown and the restaurant has to be one of the best kept secrets in town. You should definitely get there while they are not too popular so you can enjoy a spectacular meal. But don’t take our word for it (although that should be enough), read this review of the restaurant.
Ristorante Sach Mat, 0 minutes walk – Out the front door, to the right, next building. The owner is from Bologna, the pizza and pasta are as good as you’ll find in Italy and the coffee is exceptional. They also have breakfast if you don’t want to wander too far.
Restaurace Stoleti, 2 minutes walk – Out the front door, to the right, at the end of the block. Reservations pretty much a must, tel is 222 220 008. Good standard Czech/international food. They have tables outside in the summer and a very reasonable wine list. One of our favorite places.
Krizem Krazem, 3 minutes walk - Out the front door, to the right, then first left and then first right, on the corner. Downstairs next to the antique store. Good Czech fair, reasonable prices, friendly staff, good beer.
Lehka Hlava, 3 minutes walk – Again, out the door, to the right, then right and then second right up Borsov. This is an all vegetarian restaurant with a small but decent kitchen, good teas and excellent atmosphere. Check out the back room with the “stars” in the ceiling.
Bellevue restaurant - 5 minutes walk – out the door to the right, then right again and all the way down to the end of the street until you come almost to the river and then left. Bellevue is expensive but top top quality. Especially great brunches.
